Manly.

This build and renovation was a unique project set in the desirable Manly of Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

The vision was a modern and timeless home, making use of the ample amounts of northern light, and creating a flow of living through-out the main living spaces.

Simple lines and soft sheers help transform this living room into a tranquil space. The contemporary furniture works cohesively with the architecture, and are balanced by the room proportions and colours. The comfortable furnishings used in the room generates a welcoming space to enjoy a drink while appreciating the view, whilst aiding a sense of flow with the connecting kitchen and dining space.

Functionality

Set over 3 floors, the home provides ample space and yet still a serene feeling of inclusivity. The living spaces have been divided over the ground and lower ground floor, with the sleeping areas on one level, and a master suite off that. The use of natural materials in furnishings contrast nicely to the hard wearing floors, exterior and windows- all made to withstand the harsh elements by the ocean. The furnishings reflect comfort, in what would otherwise be perceived as a cold space, and harmonise beautifully with the outdoors.

Thoughtful Details

The home was built around the use of light and to make the most of the North facing views. Floor to ceiling windows, and abundant light levels allow for the use of dark tones across the furniture. The addition of walnut cabinetry and minimalistic lines in the kitchen, create a feeling of cohesion as it connects to the surrounding living spaces.

Concrete tiled floor and glass work with the velvets, metals and linens to punctuate the monochromatic scheme and inject warmth. For added opulence, the light fixtures and artwork bring the unique touch. The custom fireplace and joinery emphasises the home’s natural materials, while reinforcing the room’s modern characteristics.

The industrial accent of the stainless steel and the brass accentuate the look of timelessness.
