Great Pulteney Street.

This beautiful Grade II Georgian home was in need of a complete renovation, though with great potential. We completely recreated the internal layout, and used Trunk oak flooring to create a seamless walkthrough from kitchen to living. The furniture and furnishings were chosen to create a serene atmosphere that was timeless, with a combination of contemporary and antique pieces.

Simple lines and soft tones help transform this kitchen into a tranquil space. Cabinets painted in soft hues, contrasted nicely with the Carrara marble worktops and brass accents. A classic shaker style door, with a modern twist of fluted glass. An oak topped table, made to look more like a follow on from the island, aids a sense of flow with the connecting space.

Functionality

Understated storage solutions make use of the space without infringing on the room’s natural light. Walnut joinery reflects the traditional form of the property while the addition of a steel range and boiling water tap injects modern functionality. The large dining table and hard-wearing worktop complete this welcoming space in which to prepare food and socialise.

Thoughtful Details

Abundant light levels allow for the use of dark tones across the cabinets. The addition of half-glazed units and open shelves maintain a feeling of space. Decorative tiles and brushed brass splash-back work with the oak flooring to punctuate the monochromatic scheme and inject warmth. For added opulence, the worktop has been mitre edged to create the illusion of a thicker slab. This custom look emphasises the worktop’s marble-like material while reinforcing the room’s classical characteristics. The industrial accent of the stainless steel range delicately interrupts these period features resulting in a modern kitchen that sits with ease at the heart of this Georgian villa.
